A Guide to Navajo Weavings
Published in Paperback by Treasure Chest Publications (January, 2002)
Average review score:

Good book for a short pictorial overview of Navajo rugsAlthough this book is short on written content, it makes up for its brevity with a great selection of colourful pictures from many Navajo styles. This book focuses on a historic review of styles rather than a "how-to" for new weavers. It's short and it's inexpensive, so don't expect a thorough overview.

It Happened in North Carolina
Published in Paperback by Falcon Publishing Company (November, 2000)
Average review score:

A Taste of HomeAs a native North Carolinian, I particularly enjoyed reading about pirate Jean Lafitte who retired under an assumed name and lived out his life in peace and anonymity in Lincoln County, just two blocks from my homeplace. These are stories that I have heard recounted many times, and Kent tells them here with a freshness that makes them come alive.

Jack Kent's Fables of Aesop
Published in Unknown Binding by Parents' Magazine Press ()
Average review score:

More Fables of Aesop, Retold and illustrated by Jack KentBy using a yet another version of Aesop fables (V. S. Vernon-Jones)as a take off point, Kent, has given these stories a new dimension of humor. The stories have the same moral, but they are written and illustrated with a new twist. Being a free-lance commercial artist gives a special flavor to his illustration of the fables. This is an excellent book to have students compare to the original and newer versions of Aesop fables. Students can have a concrete idea of writing and illustrating the same information using more than one approach. This book is morally educational as well as funny!

Kayaking: Whitewater and Sea (Outdoor Pursuits)
Published in Paperback by Human Kinetics (T) (June, 1995)
Average review score:

A solid start that doesn't oversimplify the sport.Actually, it's two sports -- depending on who you ask. Ford does a great job of acknowledging and exploring the similarities and common concerns of sea and whitewater kayaking. The simple and straightforward advice on instruction and gear selection makes this a great book to read before you ever get in a kayak. It provides you with the knowledge to ask good questions and make reasonable decisions when you go to purchase gear. The book splits later into sea and whitewater sections, so if you are already sold on one and don't want to know about the other, you might shy away from this title -- don't. Expert paddlers agree that all types of paddling have something to teach all types of paddlers. Taking a few minutes to become more familiar with the other side of kayaking will benefit you, and the getting started angle of this book is too good to miss. For the undecided, or for future whitewater paddlers, this is an easy to read overview of strokes, river reading, vocabulary, and other concerns with good photos to help explain major points. Simple advice on rolling, manuvering, playing, and safety will give you plenty of things to learn as you begin to explore the awesome fun of kayaking.,

Kent Hrbek/Minnesota Twins (1987 World Series Champions Series)
Published in School & Library Binding by Abdo & Daughters (December, 1990)
Average review score:

Very Good Book for Children or Collectors to own!Although this book is short at about 32 pages or so, it has some very good pitures of the Minnesota Star baseball player and all around good person; very charitible and always has time for people. Not many books out on this person, so get it if you can!

Kent Montana and the Really Ugly Thing from Mars
Published in Paperback by Ace Books (August, 1990)
Average review score:

Excellent novel with a twisted sense of humor.Kent Montana is an out of work actor that has a close encounter
with an alien bent on destruction. Apparently, the alien has been
watching a lot of 50's television, because quotes from several old
western series pop up. Kent's companions include a sarcastic
downstairs neighbor, a local prostitute and a scientist named
Hooker. Sarcastic lines and pretty bad puns abound in this book.
A must read for anyone with a warped sense of humor.
